Many yoga practices focus on flexibility or strength or endurance of some kind, but rarely do they focus on preparing the body for meditation.
Energy isn’t physical, and it isn’t easily manipulated by ego-oriented intention or controlling. To access an inner wisdom our body/mind needs to be in balance.
The entire body/mind seems to be dependent on the vital functioning of all it’s parts. If someone spends years practicing only asana, as Swami Vivekananda says - "They may live long with good health - but their potential is to remain only a healthy animal."
The physical practice here is very basic - and under 10 minutes long. I have found that with regular practice of this simple series, the body/mind will be open and flowing and will enable you to create a powerful meditation practice.
